My pullets have been laying for a month, some longer. They hatched at the end of March. That could be dangerous. If I started getting my first eggs before the end of September I might be trying to hatch all winter.
Come on little buddies! Hatch!!Lockdown on exchequer and a few extras last nightView attachment 4220800

My White Leghorns from MM all start laying by 4-5 months old. My oldest incomplete Black Tailed Red pullets were born in March, so they are 6 months old now. They need to get with the program. I'm ready for some fall chicks. lolMy pullets have been laying for a month, some longer. They hatched at the end of March.
I hope some little chocolates hatch!! I need to see those! I'm sorry your Buffs didn't hatch this time. It never fails, the eggs you need to hatch the most will hatch the least, and the chicks will die if you look at them wrong. Then the eggs you don't care about, being incubated by the hen in the weeds or a random flowerpot secretly on your porch will hatch 100% and she'll raise every one of those buggers. This week is a staggered hatch.
This is yesterday's. Had 7 BGDs, all hatched.5 Buffs, none hatched.
Eggs due tomorrow. Those were the ones in the incubator that malfunctioned and heat spiked a few times. Had to eliminate some and moved the rest to a not ideal incubator. We'll see how that turns out.
3rd hatch went into lockdown today. Those are all eggs from the chocolate project pen.
I locked my hen up soon as she went broody and gave her 8 eggs.I hope some little chocolates hatch!! I need to see those! I'm sorry your Buffs didn't hatch this time.
