The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Tried to take a picture of the Moony's that hatched last month. They are out there in their new digs and enjoying the growout pen. They are a pretty active bunch.

You got a nice little variety there.
I like the male on the right. And yes that one pullet is splash duckwing.
Idk why or how but pullet in the back does appear silver duckwing. Might be a good thing. One more variety.

Maybe they just have to grow out a little more to be able to tell a little bit better?

Busy day yesterday. Got up and went to an estate sale. Advertised lots of antiques. Kind of a list that looked redneck promising.
Not so much into antiques but more into "mantiques" and "farmtiques". You know old farm stuff and guy stuff. Selection wasn't too disappointing but prices sure was. I couldn't justify buying any of the cool stuff. 😔
The regular stuff he'd bargain on. Yes @KF0002 that means I was trying to lowball. Got some insulated bibs. Those will be handy soon. Also got one of those big plastic utility sinks. Fancier then the regular ones and had a nice faucet that alone was worth 2Xs the price so I went ahead and got it to put in the mudroom.
Slightly disappointed on no awesome scores there I did errands and chickened for several hours after that. Nothing awesome there either. Finished splitting the other brooder lid and then mostly cleaned brooders and rearranged chicks.
Definitely looks like I have more cockerels then pullets this season and not like all the cockerels are looking like rock stars. Maybe they just need to get past that leggy stage, idk.
Wrapping up my collecting eggs to hatch. The end is near. 😔

Not so productive today. Went to work and had a do extra day (boss is gone for the weekend) got home, relaxed, relaxed too much and accidentally napped.
Hate when that happens. Got up and got through chores just as it was getting dark. Collected eggs with my phone flashlight. SMH.
Think I may have a breakthrough with those chocolate duckwing project chicks. That'll have to wait a day or two though. Gotta feed the kid and inside chores now.

How long does it take them to get past the leggy stage? I thought that Leghorn's were supposed to have legs.

If I had the space I would be interested in helping with the development of the chocolate Leghorns.
I just really like the color.
I've worked some in the past with solid and barred chocolates. Still gonna see about those but focusing first on chocolate gold duckwing then chocolate silver duckwing.
Anyone know of a breed that has either of those as a variety?
I'm sure OEGB have a dun chocolate version.
 asking for my kid.
