The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Actually, I'm visiting him. His traveling visa expired, otherwise he'd totally visit me. But we're praying the one he is applying for will get approved.
Not sure where we will end up in the end but they have poultry and exhibition poultry everywhere so I hope that will still end up in my future if I do move there!
That is so exciting and romantic! 🥰

We got the lights put up in two pens, may work on a third another day. Gotta get these free loaders laying!

The Buff cockerel is still a little intimidated by the incomplete BTR pullet. He will get some courage soon hopefully.

Her tail spread is lovely! Luckily the Buff has a lower tail set to help balance out where hers is higher set.

And here is the Brown Leghorn pullet I chose to put with the Crele project rooster. She has the lightest leg color but the best type and tail spread. He has nice yellow legs so he should pass that on to their offspring.

She has a nice wide triangle to her tail when viewed from the back.

My favorite was I have a long since used but legit outhouse. It's a normal type ring and lid but all homemade from wood. That sits on a huge pvc looking pipe that goes in the ground but is filled with dirt level with the dirt floor. When I had muscovies that was their favorite nest box.
Chicken wise I once had several leghorns that insisted on laying in an old milk can. That was kind of cool. Weirdest was way back when I had a free range mixed flock. Someone was using the backseat floorboard of my daily driver explorer as a laying spot. That continued long enough that I had to quit leaving my window down.
I don't remember why I quoted this except I thought ghese were sll pretty cool.

Gonna go snore now till morning if possible! :frow

7+ years of this thread. @Amer was posting on day 1. It's like family stopping by when she pops in.
Always welcome to get off chicken topics to catch up with her.. The Princess is all but grown up now. Exciting times and as always I wish her the best in everything she does.
See, now that is why I love chicken people. :highfive:

Was gonna post this yesterday after work...
Today is official hatch day. I'm stalled at 14. Would of guessed 20 to 25 so hoping it's not over.
Long day at work so had to get to feeding and watering so I could get done before dark. Not long after I got back in three more had hatched.
This morning I think it was up to 21 or 22. I'll see what it looks like after work. I'm ready to tally these numbers.
