The Moonshiner's Leghorns

That bird is so darling!!! I need!

I am going to attempt a crested naked necked easter egger project. I need to come up with a shorter name for them. This little rooster is half Legbar and half NNer (the NNer rooster that is his sire carries silver and barring apparently under the heterozygous dominant white). So this bird is double barred. He looked like a Cream Legbar cockerel chick at hatch. So he is going in with my old Cream Legbar hens! :ya

Behold!!!!!

Oh, I really like him from the shoulders back.

I try not to think about OEGBs much because I will end up talking the hubby into getting some. They are so precious and cute. 🥹
Yes. They take less room, eat less and come in so many varieties that I have to stay clear of them.

They don't come in as many as OEGB but d'Anvers come in some varieties I've never seen in OEGB
Idk which varieties you're referring to but I'm a tad bit obsessed with the Quail and Blue Quail in your breed.
Is he still kicking around?
Doubtful but . I rehomed him several years ago.
Yes for some reason I believed it would but I've done it so many times now I realize they mean if you hold a bird upside down it will die
Eventually
Probably not in the same day unless you're very patient
🤔 challenge accepted, maybe.
If I ever have a full free day. Or maybe I can hang one upside down from my belt loop for the day. 🤔

I have yest to see something in another breed that OEGB don't come in. Lavender quail coloring in them is rather pretty as is the pumpkin and that weird gold color that's different than actual golden.

I would say maybe he had a massive heart attack because he was panicking? We have lost chickens in freak ways before. And it is ALWAYS the ones you cannot afford to lose. I am so sorry you lost him! :hit:hit:hit:hit
You must of been reading in a hurry getting caught up.
He only died for a few minutes then he was back up running around the pen like nothing happened. I'm going with that "it put him to sleep" theory.
He probably actually did not die because he's became one I really don't need. He's getting old and I think his fertility has dropped. And besides that I think I have 78 of his sons in the grow out pens.
