So let me ask it this way. If a Leghorn has a pea comb, might it lay blue eggs?

My dogs love raw chicken and turkey. This time of year and sporadically throught the year they eat like kings with the butchering of extra toms and roosters. I have a friend that has recently gotten into chickens. She wanted to hatch her own chicks and asked me to recommend a small quantity incubator. I recommended the MaticoopX 20 and it has served her well on two batches of eggs, each batch was 18 eggs each, all from my mixed group of yard birds. She hatched like 15 from the first batch and 16 from the second batch or something like that. Long story short, she ended up with tons of extra roosters which she is willing to grow out until they are 4 months old and then give them back to me for us to butcher. Score! I will have zero feed invested in those birds as we will butcher them as soon as we get them from her.Make sure you send your chicken guy a Christmas card this year. I can only dream that I had a chicken guy. Hell I would settle for a couple people that feed their dogs raw.
No luck here. No one even willing to feed their reptiles chicken.
Good luck with the OEGBs. You'll like em.
It rained all night last night and all day today. I had to go grocery shopping after work this morning and got drenched. Then went to the doctor with my husband (bad back/neck) so I looked like a drowned rat I'm sure.Steady rain most of the day so pretty much nothing but regular chores accomplished.
Should get those other chicks all moved around tomorrow.
I'm not crazy about mine. It is probably my least favorite incubator. I use it as a hatcher when I have the two GQF Genesis hatchers maxed out but I do like that I can see the chicks hatching pretty well though. It is, the little turd does a pretty good job.
I love the little chocolate gold duckwing! That is a big achievement! Can't wait to see them all grown out!
Beautiful SDW! How big are your silvers compared to your browns?
There was a line of brown Leghorns that lay blue eggs, lol.If it lays a blue egg it isn't a Leghorn![]()
