The Moonshiner's Leghorns

If she's small the other chickens could be picking on her and yanking her tail feathers out.I would think you've noticed this though so she may not be eating as much as the rest. Are they chasing her away from food and water?
No, they don't seem to be picking on her at all, and she's eating right along side of the others. I think she was like that when I got them.

I got ahold of 4 brown leghorns and 3 of those silver leghorns too. They are all pullets, so I should have some eggs by spring. They were hatched in August of this year. I'll try to get pictures this afternoon.

I noticed that one of the Silver leghorns doesn't have a tail?
Where did these come from?

You are probably better off. At least once a shift I regret my career decision. I have seen things, terrible things. Smelled smells… terrible smells!! I have cleaned things…unmentionable things!!!! 😭😖😵🤢

I should have been a veterinarian.
Animals are nasty too!

I'm not sure. Someone's house burned down, so I took them. They told me that they are leghorns.
Was just curious if they were from a breeder or hatchery or? I don't think there's but a few hatcheries that sell them.

I don't know, but they do seem to be nice birds, and will gather at my feet if I bring them a few bread pieces for a treat.

Well congrats and have you started building more coops yet? 🤭

Yes, and I'm going to need them. :gig
