Speaking of which, what exactly is crele? I thought it was a feather pattern similar to partridge, but y'all post pictures and say this is crele and that's crele and .. frankly I see no continuity at all. Help a newbie out!

Crele is barring on a wild type or partridge base. My crele Leghorn project is crele (barring) on a wild type base. This rooster is single barred Crele (gold not silver). So only one copy of the barring gene since he is a project bird.

So imagine a Brown Leghorn and then add barring on top of that color pattern.

These are silver crele. Which is the same except with silver replacing all gold and red. Also the male in thie pic is double barred (two copies of the barring gene). Only males can have 2 copies, females can only have one, which is what makes the barring gene sex-linked. Silver/gold is the same way and is also sex-linked. I hope all that makes sense.

There was a thread on making pink chickens as a project.

Seen some Isabella wheaten Ameraucana that the females look slightly pink depending on your definition of pink that is.

Right, lavender and slate are just shades of gray. Diluted black. But lavender or Isabella sounds fancier. lol

When you dilute red/gold you get light brownish red, buff, and shades of yellow. Pink chickens though? Nah.

Pink is how some describ it. Light tan/buff is what it is. I just thought I would try carrying some water for them.
