The Moonshiner's Leghorns

A Flamingo? Or Rose Breasted Cockatoo perhaps?
The latter 😊

Ironically I refer to him as a pink chicken...

So does the lavender affect the colour of the buff or is it just a light buff?
I'm finding this interesting because I want to work on a similar colour but with blue, not lavender, the problem being finding blue based Sussex is a whole lot harder than lavender ones...
Since lavender dilutes red, gold, and black, it would dilute the color Buff. Buff is just diluted mahogany, diluted by the dilute (di) gene. A Buff bird, like a Buff Leghorn for example is mahogany, dilute, columbian, and dark brown on a wheaten base. So lavender would dilute a Buff bird even more I imagine.

Ok, I got some Leghorn eggs from a suspicious backwoods breeder behind a gas station late one night. I hatched 8 of these BGD eggs and now I need to know the sex and see what we think about their colors.
I thought Mooney was the only breeder of blue gold duckwing in Leghorns? @The Moonshiner you peddling eggs at gas stations?

I am so jealous! I have always wanted one! He (or she?) is absolutely stunning!
Thanks! I call him a "he" but not actually been DNA'd or anything and his eyes make me second guess myself all the time 🤷‍♀️
How is their temperament?
Cheeky as anything. I only have experience with the one, so I do not consider myself knowledgeable on the species at ALL. Mine's still fairly young too so I've not gotten to enjoy the joys of hormones all that extremely yet. He's very friendly, with only me though, as he's very neophobic and finds other people scary.

That is why I have put off getting a Cockatoo or large parrot, I would hate for it to only like one person. I have only had cockatiels, but one of these days I would love to get an Indian Ringneck Parakeet, Cockatoo, or Macaw.

Q's not so much one of those "one person velcro birds" as much as because he's so nervous, I'm really the only person who's put the effort in with him. It was a long process to begin with but worth it. Not everyone's willing or has the time to do that. Being a Cockatoo, I made an effort to make sure he's as independent as possible. I doubt I could handle a clingy 'too.
Ringnecks get my vote 😌 I'm obsessed with Asiatic parakeets.

My uncle use to breed Ringnecks and I always loved them. :love
