That is actually a genetic mutation that can happen in chickens. It cropped up in my Marans from time to time, where their toe webbing was like a duck or the toes were completely fused together. We culled those birds as chicks. lolDuck feet on a chicken.![]()
We get that a lot from Game chickens. We don’t tolerate it in any other breed though. We eat all the mean roosters. lolHad my first ever Leghorn rooster flog today. In the old dudes pen.
They have a 5 gallon (?) Rubber tub for water. For a few days I'd been busting the ice and the last couple just adding water. Anyways it was mostly ice and I standing there bashing the middle of it with my trusty Dewalt crowbar. Just checking for any water and seeing how tough the ice was because I was figuring on flipping it out the door and beating the heck out of it.
Long story even longer since most bowls were ice filled I water to clear them out to ready for the several warm days. Looking forwards to not have water everyday.
Ol boy, a 3 year old silver crele came out of no where's and hit the back of my legs. When I turned around he was all puffed up and mean mugging me. Dumb rooster. I hadn't even used him for breeding he was just a back up. Maybe that's why he was mad at me but foolishness on his part. I have 12 or 15 of those in the grow out pens and the rooster I did breed from last year.
Ya I've had so so so many Leghorn roosters and never a human aggressive one. I'm not putting up with it either. Or didn't put up with itWe get that a lot from Game chickens. We don’t tolerate it in any other breed though. We eat all the mean roosters. lol
Ooh! Did you ... um ... unalive him, Moony?Had my first ever Leghorn rooster flog today. In the old dudes pen.
