The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Actually now that I looked at Murray McMurrays he looks like he has the Extended black gene (no bay wing bay) along with duckwing which throws a wrench in what I said. He's just blue with leakage.
but these will be the results with a light brown

Is it possible he is blue birchen (crow wing) with Er? I saw the crow wing and that is where my mind went, since he has so much color in his saddle and hackle?

Couldn’t get a photo because the stinker escaped the barn and went to sleep in the coop with the hens and the other rooster!! He’s on the floor in a pile of poop!! Now I have to make sure I get out there before dawn and open the coop so he doesn’t get his tail feathers handed to him by Muraco. *sigh*

He didn't want to be alone.

Ok I had to move him because Muraco was beating the hell out of him so hopefully this helps

I love anything Leghorn + blue.
Started a long time ago with trying for blue gold DW then solid blue next. Once upon a time Privett advertised "blues". They only had 2 pics and they had white shanks. Of course I was curious since I'd never heard of anyone with blues. I talked to privett on the phone about them. It was clear they had no idea about their breeding or just didn't have much of a concept on breeding and wanted to keep what they did know mysterious.
They had none available and discontinued them before any where available. A year or so later they announced their blue breasted browns. Again I contacted them since I hadn't seen anyone else with those either. They revealed they used some of their prior blues with browns to make them and sent me a handful of pics. Many still had white shanks and most were off on color/pattern. They did sell them that year and have since. At the time Privett supplied some TSC with chicks and they were popping up in random TSC shipments.
At some point Hoovers bought out Privett. That's how Hoovers got what they have. Not sure how long theirs have been around now. 3 maybe 4 years counting both hatcheries.
I always follow them when I see eggs or birds for sell. I've seen proper females but still some that aren't. Same with males but more males seem to be off still.
My guess is they started with blue from Andalusians. That's how I got blue and had to breed out the white skin. I just don't think they were quite their yet with getting out the extended black either. Some genes still lurking and the next breeders bred what they had not knowing exactly what was there.
The DW pattern isn't so cut and dry once crossed. Ask me how I know...
