The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I read it shuts down the outside HVAC and uses the auxiliary system, which I’m not even sure we have. And much less energy efficient so just for emergencies. We’ve decided we’re going to get something like a piece of plexiglass and put brick supports under it and more on top to hold it in place to use as a temporary rain cover during ice/snow storms.
Yeah I have no idea either. We must have an auxiliary system because our emergency heat is working, thankfully. We definitely need to build a little shelter for our unit outside also. Yet another project to add to the never-ending list of projects. lol

This is how I prefer to roll in the snow.
I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it is AWD and does really well in the snow. It's like it can sense when the road is slippery going down hills and it automatically gears down so you don't have to brake. I love it. I have always wanted a Wrangler. 🥰😍

I had a CJ 5 in my late teens. The perfect vehicle to not have as a teenage redneck. It was so much fun and I was in so many places I shouldn't have been with it.
Had a soft top and I rarely had the doors on it. It learned me that seatbelts were important, lol.
Once I found a backroad that had a sharp left corner. Right off the corner was a huge mud puddle then a huge tree. You could drive straight instead of making the turn and when you hit the puddle muddy water would spray up completely covering the windshield then you had to blindly miss the tree.
I did it several times and thought it was so fun I had to go get my cousin so he could see. I fly off the road, hit the water then swerved. I looked over to see how much fun he was having and the seat was empty. Crazy fool got scared and jumped out of the jeep as we hit the water.
So glad I swerved to my side or I may have ran over him. I still tease him about it.
My husband wants an old CJ (7? I think?). He almost bought one, but the frame was horribly rusted so we backed out.

I’ve never driven a Cherokee but my husband says “it’s a Jeep it’s not a comfort car” and he also recommends you never get in an old Jeep if you don’t like bouncing around 😆 He has owned lots of Jeeps including old CJs and he let me drive his TJ a few times when we were dating. That’s how I knew he was a keeper. I would think with the longer wheel base the Cherokee would actually be a smoother ride relatively speaking.
My Grand Cherokee is pretty comfortable. The heated steering wheel and heated leather seats come in handy during the cold.

Snow has stoppes and radar shows no more so looks like we, er, weathred the storm just fine. Whether DH can get out to get to work tomorrow is yet to be seen. He might, since the cattle people have been in and out a couple of times with loads of hay for the cows.
Glad to hear the storm has passed!

I had a Jeep Grand Wagoneer once that was VERY comfortable! Luxurious, in fact. Unfortunately it made noises every now and then that always proved to be $500+ noises and eventually I had to kiss it good-bye.
What kind of noises? Mine hasn't made any noises so far that I know of. I've had it since 2021. The only problems we have had out of it was the serpentine belt and the screen started delaminating a couple weeks after I bought it. All of that was covered under warranty, thankfully. My husband still gives me a hard time because I didn't buy a Toyota 4Runner.
