LOL!!! I haven’t had Maxwell House since I was a kid. Everyone seems to go to Folgers to save money but I don’t skimp on coffee. Community or Gevalia if I’m buying.

In chicken talk, I decided not to hatch this year since I will be mostly absent just like last year. My wife dealt with all of it for the most part. It’s not her hobby, it’s mine, so if any chicks hatch it will be from a broody OEGB. By the way, they haven’t laid a single egg since I got them, whenever that was.

I ordered two blue-breasted brown Leghorn pullets for early April. I have ordered from this guy before who makes a business of growing out chicks (smart, right?) but when I showed up to get my birds he hadn’t received one of the breeds from the hatchery so I didn’t get it…which is a long way to say I ordered the Leghorns but I am not counting on them. It sure would be nice though.

Anyone else have Amazon Prime, use it and finding the shipping has really went downhill?
Used to be not long ago orders took 1- 3 days. Now not so much. I wanted to get a new space heater when that last arctic blast was headed my way. When I saw what I wanted it said arrives Sunday. That was Thursday so I went ahead and ordered it. Once I placed my order it said estimated delivery Thursday. That's when it arrived, yesterday a full 7 days. Hour after that order I ordered a couple other things. They said estimated delivery Wednesday. Just arrived, took 8 days.
Today I went to order some shark bite fittings. 2 of the 3 said Sunday delivery and the other said Monday. All said if I order in 11 hours and some odd minutes. I ate then went to place the order. Hour later and it said Monday for all 3 if ordered in 10 hours. Not a big deal so placed order. Once I did it said order placed estimated delivery Tuesday.
What happened? Prime just went up but their shipping sucks now.

I have found that as long as you are ordering $35 or more, you get free shipping with (usually) only a day’s difference between that and Prime. I just wait until I have enough that I need that bumps me over the limit. Because I am philosophically opposed to paying extra for the privilege of handing over my money.

If he doesn’t have them and you don’t want what is offered as a substitute, what happens?

Have you tried melatonin or chamomile prior to bedtime? Melatonin has been a game changer for my insomnia. And propranolol has been a game changer for my anxiety. At least the physiological symptoms of my anxiety anyway.

I take melatonin because research shows it boosts the effects of a cancer med I’m on, but I can’t say it’s helped much with sleep for me.

I don't need for everything in my home to be esthetically pleasing, just functional. I love wood burning stoves.

I wanted a wood-burning stove but my husband really REALLY wanted a fire-place so I caved on that one. The builder did use rocks from our land and also used a hatchet to make a mantle from a cherry tree that had to be cut down anyway, so it is pretty (this was at Christmas). But in my book, stoves are more functional.

I like the French Vanilla Community brand from Louisiana. I always buy the 6 packs of them, and reorder before they run out. I can't find this in my local stores here.

Is that the name of the brand or do you get flavored coffee? I’m a “coffee-flavored coffee only” sort of person.
