I would say I want to attempt this variety but my husband is wanting to thin the heard. Like way down. So I may end up thinning down to the Red project, Crele project, Browns, and Whites.

Y’all remember that one time I swore I was never doing chicks again and I would never buy an incubator and a dozen other things…

Well. I am fixin to eat my words. Spring is making me crazy. I can’t find brown Leghorns or anything but white and it’s super annoying. I am about ready to buy them at the feed store but then I had a thought….why not hatch my own? Just like a dozen or so…

So…best small incubator? And I will take all the crap I know I deserve for coming down off the hill I was ready to die on.

Join the crowd! I have 2 of the Kebonnixs 12 egg incubator's that I had bought from amazon, and they work good. All those chick's that I hatched back in July and August started laying egg's about a month ago.

Small.... I'd probably go with that 20 egg MaticoopX.
Even smaller and half the price I'd go with a WYD2ANG 12 egg one.

Depends, how many, when and what variety?

Well…I am kind of obsessed with the “blue-breasted” brown Leghorns right now but I know you don’t call them that. If I got the bigger incubator I could throw a dozen of those (or whatever you have that’s fun) and a few of my own in to see what my boy has been up to. I don’t have any Leghorn hens to pen him with right now but I could put him in with a game hen or something and see what pops out. It wouldn’t be for a week at least cause I have to order the incubator

Idk how soon I'd be set up for hatching eggs. Nothing is set up in breeding pens now. Honestly hadn't even thought of setting any groups up yet. Still up and down weather here and Idk what's laying well.
Hell it's low 60s now and yesterday morning was 15°. Yesterday's eggs were frozen.
Let me look and see what I have as far as that variety and where I could put some. Have to set some up, check if production is worth a d@mn, etc. etc and get back to you.
Might be fun though because I have 0 idea what's out there. You know that whole don't get excited about any particular birds before spring cause you'll lose them if you do thing.
