The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Awww you’re so sweet 😭❤️🥰

Did you hear my news? I haven’t shared it here (in this thread) yet I don’t think but have elsewhere.
I just now read about it! If moving to a group home is what you need to be healthy, then that is exactly the right move. Mental health is important, and ignoring mental suffering can be detrimental. Sometimes being around family can exacerbate mental illness (raises hand) so if I had to live even across the street from my mom, my mental health would suffer.

It is okay to not be okay. I've had to tell myself this lately, so I can focus on trying to get to a place where I am mentally okay. I hope this group home is a place where you can convalesce and heal in peace and have plenty of support. :hugs

We missed you! Glad you’re back
Thank you! I missed you all too, but didn't mean to be gone for so long. My mind is like "squirrel!" and off I go doing things, and then I look up and it's time to go back to work again.

My husband complained at least once a week about them, so it was necessary. I've mentioned on this thread multiple times I think about his disdain for Silkies. No offense to the breed or breeders that like them. He just thinks they are a useless novelty. They survived our blistering cold winter, so they are tougher than I gave them credit for though. The people that bought them had small children and they squealed with delight when they saw the birds. Those chickens will be very spoiled and loved, I'm sure. lol
Silkies are adorable, but I'm always leary of any animal that has been bred for traits that seem to make it less adaptable. But maybe exactly the kind of chicken for someone with little kids.

I think I need to do a practice run in the new incubator before I get Moony eggs…I am going to collect a few Buckeye eggs since I know the roosters both like them and probably a couple eggs from the EEs. I have never seen the game hens let either rooster near them so I won’t bother with those.

I store them pointy-side down in a cool but not cold place and I can collect them for up to a week, right? Any hatchoholic chime in. Unsolicited advice welcome.

Edit because fat fingers
