I only had one golden out of the 5 I hatched. The other 4 were paint as chicks, I lost 2, and one was a pullet failure to thrive and the other a Calico that got his gold in about the same time as his crow. Obviously the paints wouldn't be used though

I did hatch a Glw with my Swedish prince. And the chick grew up with a rosecomb and zero lacing, just a plain brown bird. How disappointing.

And her brother, who I wouldn't mind getting pheonixes to look like him. Just don't know the genetics he or my pheonixes have enough to actually do

I guess today might be the day to resurrect one of my old threads. I need a chat thread so to not clog up my Leghorn thread with too much non chicken rambling.

Any plans for the day? Horses don't take holidays off so another work day for me. I am going to try to get out of here a bit early today and if it doesn't rain too much more or too heavy at the time my mother and brother are going to come by after I get home. Nothing special really just a day for my mom to spend with my kid.
Road had already started flooding when I left this morning so it'll depend if it gets worse or better. I did get to try out the new Trailblazer in four-wheel drive and a foot of water. It doesn't set as high up off the ground as I like my four-wheel drives to but it did fine. I'll see how getting home goes.
