The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop- A Role Play

Clary watched as three people ran out of the forest. Frowning, she followed them back to the clearing. She didn’t catch what was going on, but assumed it had something to do with the oncoming storm.
At the mention of magic, Clary looked around the group, realizing she was probably the only non-magical person there. She was always jealous of people with magic, even though her friend tried to convince her it was miserable.
She tilted her head, moving closer to Cam. “Is that a... parakeet? What happened to it’s wing?” She asked.

Take was totally lost in the whole conversation. He just stared at everyone, with his eyebrow raised. That’s when his stomach grumbled and placed his hand over it at the sudden noise. He was starving, and the only things he had eaten were the two muffins from earlier in the day. He bit his lip, I could really go for a bag of Cheez-It’s right now. Or even better, a big juicy steak.

Kipp sighed over the argument about which place was more deadly. Neither place was great, but better a tree get struck by lighting with you under it, than you getting a hit directly. Then again, if the trees were going to grab you and try to kill you, that sounded worse than lightning. He shivered at the thought of being forcefully dragged under the ground and slowly eaten by trees. Bugs seemed like a small problem compared to that.

"Yup, genuine budgregar parakeet." Haddie piped, wincing as she shifted to try and make her wing more comfortable. "Got attacked by killer trees as a bear, turned into a mouse to escape, and mice forepaws don't hold up well to drops of that height. Turned into a budgie to communicate."

“Oh, you’re the shapeshifter?” Clary asked. “What’s your name?”

"True!" Fox picked up the pace too stay alongside him. "It's still really pretty. " A snarl of thunder rumbled across the sky, causing him to frown. As they approached Brid, he nodded at her words. "Y'know, you have a point. Like, plenty of bugs are poisonous..."

Charlie stared at Brid for several seconds, then said slowly. "Yeah, I think I got it. Made no sense, but at least this isn't a meeting on how to solve world hunger, right?" He grinned at her. Knowing that he hadn't barged in on something important, and wasn't going to be attacked, made him feel a lot calmer. He looked down at the cat, and almost reached out to pet him, but thought it might be disrespectful to his rider.

Charlie appeared out of nowhere, after being lost for like 20 minutes. He waved awkwardly at the others and came closer.

When Charlie caught up to the group, he was met with a confusing scene. There were three out of breath people, two of them with minor injuries. And there was a parakeet. Was the parakeet always there? Was it new? Charlie had no idea.

Colby halted mid-stride. "I didn't think about that," he admitted slowly, then resumed skipping, consequently dismissing the ghastly imagery that Brid's insinuation fed his brain's camera roll. "Honestly, though, I'm still more worried for the bugs themselves. Giant insects? I mean, come on, that's even bigger than an undiscovered species!" He stopped again to toss sheepish grin over his shoulder. "No pun intended."

Brid laughed a bit. “I guess. Oh, I’ve been meaning to ask you guys, why do you think you were chosen? I mean, I don’t think anyone here actually knows, but what do you think the reason might be?” She glanced up at Fox as she spoke, straightening her glasses. “I haven’t been able to figure out why telling time would be useful against bugs. And as far as I know my singing only works on humans and occasionally parrots.”
