The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop- A Role Play

Cam shook her head sadly. "I wish. I think that someone is involved -or maybe was involved, since its a thousand year curse- who has a lot more control than I do. It looks like the work of someone like me. I don't know why they would do it, though." It seemed so cruel to hurt people like that, using her power to kill and destroy. It had actually never occurred to her, people with strange abilities were generally accepted and considered to be kindly, gentle people. This couldn't be said for the werewolves or the... the pink aliens? All the time.
She couldn't imagine her grandfather doing this, that's for sure, pale, wrinkled face twisted with anger.
"Maybe someone forced them to do it." The person had to be good. It just wouldn't be fair for so much awesome power to go to a bad person.
Ellie looked doubtful “or their power hungry.” She said. Casting a sideways glance at Cam. “Has anyone actually met anyone else with their powers?” Ellie asked frowning

Cam frowned. Power hungry? Doesn’t that only happen in story books? This was kind of a story, though.
“Yes. Why wouldn’t we?” Cam asked. “My grandpa has my powers.”
She thought back to the last time she visited the floral beauty of his Ohio farm. Just last weekend. Soon all of the trees would be turning colors as well. Then it looked like the mountains were ablaze.
She was more of a summer person, but his farm was most beautiful in fall.

(Ooh, excuses for backstory! He he... time to torture my charrie!)
Haddie yawned. They weren't going to figure out why the trees were glowing by standing around talking about it. She walked towards one of the glowing trees and sniffed at it. Huh. Smells like tree. Movement caught her eye. More locusts? She padded in between the glowing trees, her nose on the ground. She kept walking, munching on straggling locusts. She didn't notice the trees getting darker until she heard the voice.
"Haddassah? Is that you?"
Haddie's head whipped up. She let out a snarl, her tail between her legs. She turned around to see the source of the voice, and of so many nightmares.
"Don't growl at me, young lady. And what do you think you're doing in that form? You probably have fleas." the woman said disdainfully. "Human. Now."
Haddie growled, low and angry. She wasn't going to take orders from her ever again.
"Haddie?" a small, plaintive voice called. "Please, just do what she wants. You know what'll happen if you don't." Haddie's growl morphed into a whine. No. She can't be here. She's dead.
"Come, Maria." the woman commanded. A small girl, no more than ten, crept from behind Haddie and stood be the woman. No, no, no. Haddie shifted into a human.
"Please. don't hurt her!" she cried. the woman sneered at Haddie.
"I see you've finally come to your senses. But disobedience must be punished." She raised her hand to hit the small girl. The girl shook with suppressed tears. Haddie turned her head as the sound of a slap echoed in the bubble of trees.
"That's for disobeying me."
"Haddie, please!" Haddie shook with sobs and anger. She glared at the woman who dared to call herself their mother.
"No." Haddie said. She couldn't let this go on any more. She lunged at the woman, only to fall on the ground as she dissolved. She picked herself up and turned to Maria.
"Maria, I'm so-" she was cut off as the young girl viciously slapped her across the face.
"That's for leaving me to die." she hissed, before dissolving into dust. The clearing grew brighter as the woods released her. Haddie let out a strangled sob. She fell to her knees, shaking as she wept.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Take had turned towards the trees, eyeing the way they glowed and swayed. He crossed his arms and started to gnaw on the nail of his thumb. He was growing anxious, as he remembered what he thought was an illusion. The way his younger self just appeared out of no where and all the blows he had given him. It felt so real, but the pain faded away after he ‘woke up’.

What is this forest trying to do? Make us face our true selves? Our pasts?

Blair looked at the trees, watching them closely. They only seemed to glow, no longer lashing out at her or the others. She couldn't let the dream or whatever had happened bother her, anymore, she had to find her way back to Kyle and the rest. She turned back to Take, ready to say something, when she realized he looked rather anxious.
When she decided to speak to him, she heard Ellie's voice.

A burning wave of fiery jealousy crashed over Blair at Cam's words, with the amount of harshness she had never felt before. She had never met anyone, that she knew of, with Lycanthropy.
"Well, lucky you, Cam. Unfortunately, for people like me it's a little harder to find other's with my power, as they're too scared to actually tell anyone who they are, for obvious reason. So no, Ellie," her tone was a lot harsher and more bitter then she intended, and she took a step back. It's these trees...they're driving me mad.
With a jolt of shock at her realization, she dropped her gaze to the ground. Her last response was a little bit softer, gentler: "No. I've never met anyone with my...with my powers."

Brid’s little hideaway seemed to be getting smaller and smaller as she huddled there. At first she hadn’t minded that it was wrapping around her, as she was too distracted by the locusts, and the more sheltered area kept the bugs away. But then it became constricting and uncomfortable and she suddenly felt scared. It kept tightening, knocking her glasses askew, and there was a drowning sensation as she realized that she couldn’t uncurl her legs from her body. Bracing her arms on either side of her in an attempt to stop the space from becoming tinier, she discovered that no matter how strongly she pushed or tried to kick against it, it kept growing. Oh gosh, I forgot how claustrophobic I am! “Hey, is anyone out there?!” She called frantically, wincing as a thorn began to dig into her palm. Shoot, they all went into the forest, didn’t they! I don’t know where Fox is, Colby’s probably being eaten alive in that field, and I’m gonna die!

Fox had fled the field when the locusts had come, taking refuge in the edge of the forest. He was watching said field now for any sign of Brid or Colby or literally anyone he knew.
He heard a females voice, and a sharp stabbing pain flickered through his palm, causing him to wince. That might be Brid!
"Hang on!" He yelled, daring to run into the swarm of locusts, shrinking his over six foot tall body as low as he could. The locusts didn't seem to care about him, instead searching for the next batch of trees they could demolish. Following the stinging pain and increasing amount of fear that rose with every step, Fox spotted a bush, locusts consuming it. He felt Brid's fear strongly before he saw her, curled inside the bush.
He let out a hiss of pain as a locust landed on him, biting his skin. He shook his hand, flinging the bug away, as he approached the bush. "Brid! It's Fox! I'll pull the bush, you try to get out, alright?"

Cam’s face heated up.
I didn’t mean it in a rude way!
She stared at her feet, biting her lip hard to prevent her from snapping back.
She stepped back a bit, feeling everyone’s eyes on her.
Before the awkward silence could continue, Kyle broke in: “All my relatives are just like me. It’d be weird if they weren’t.”
Rylie was lying down now, basking in the light of the beautiful clearing. Kyle sat on Rylie’s back; contentedly scratching the cat’s ears.

Take started to listen in to what was happening after his thoughts faded away. His fang caught on his thumb, breaking skin and starting to bleed. His didn’t let out a yell or anything, he just cursed under his breath.
He turned back towards the others and grimaced down at Kyle. His face twisted and disturbed, “Yeah, I wish I had relatives who looked like me. I wish I had relatives at all” he mocked coldly as his scarlet blood dropped from his thumb.
