The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop- A Role Play

Take’s neck snapped to the left, side eyeing down at the three sources of voices behind him. Not saying a word, then looking back in front of him.
That's chilly, Cam thought, rubbing her arms. She'd have laughed at that strange head turn anywhere else, but in a dark, creepy basement in Missouri with an equally dark, creepy dude and curse of creepy little invertebrates?
"Heh..." she said, all of the laughter stifled out of her. She stared straight ahead then, trying not to get lost in the abnormal blitz of the pulsating amulet. At least the Laurel guy didn't notice.

Ellie looked at her “you ok?” Then she noticed Take turn back to the front, she shuddered

Rylie shot her one last hiss before entering the darkness of the bathroom. Laurel was pouring over the map, only lit by the stone, likely making yet another check over his work, lifting his shades so his eyes could peek out just enough to read the words, but not enough that the glowing stone could reveal their true color. Nerd. He's going to ruin his eyes that way, trying to read in pitch darkness, Kyle thought.
Laurel looked up, and Kyle could imagine him squinting through the shades that he raised slightly. Maybe he's trying to protect super sensitive night vision or something. Maybe his eyes are just ultra pale. Maybe he's just trying too hard to be cool. Or maybe he's just super scared that someone might recognize him. Kyle had wondered these things many times. “I’m about to send you all to Stonehenge now," he said to the crowd that was slowly accumulating in the darkness. "I can't go with you since I have to bring you back here."
Good for you, Kyle thought.

Blair sighed, watching Rylie scamper off, and shook her head. "Felines," she muttered, entering into the darkness. Her eyes adjusted quickly, yellow eyes glowing in the darkness. She slipped in just behind Take, glancing around her for a sign of Kipp. Nothing just yet. Looking back, she peered around Take, eyes narrowed. This Laurel dude is shady. Really shady. And how is he reading with sunglasses in the pitch darkness?
"This is so unnatural," she muttered under her breath.

The hairs on the back of Take’s neck immediately stood up, he sensed that Blair was behind him since he could recognize her scent. He shifted his body slightly, and brought his arm to Blair, grabbing her arm gently and bringing her forward. His warm grasp releasing her.
“Sorry, I just got nervous when you got behind me. I have a thing where I fear someone coming up behind me unexpectedly.” he said quietly, not looking down at Blair.

"Hey, what the—?" Blair jumped as Take grabbed her, gently pushing her forward, but fell silent when he spoke. "Oh. Don't apologize. My fault. Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." She murmured, before twisting back around to watch Laurel.

“Pft” he said, looking amused, “You didn’t sca-” cutting himself off mid-sentence. He realized Blair did in fact scare him. He grew quiet and spaced out.
I knew it was her.. but why do I have to have this insecurity when my back is turned?

(How? how did he get lost on the way down? Alright... I'll....?? Stop missing multiple days of RPing I guess XD. That's what I'll do.)

Take immediately stood up, looking at everyone starting to go back downstairs. He heard the words ‘practice’ and ‘improving’.
So are we training?..
He smirked to himself, I want to get in on some of this action. He made his way downstairs along with everyone else.
“C’mon Kipp!!” He boomed, projecting his voice to get the boys attention.
"She's isn't going to stay if I leave her here, little man." Blair mumbled, uncrossing her legs and following the group down the stairs, sticking close to Take and Kipp, Kit just behind her.

"Uh, yeah." Kipp responded to Take, absentmindedly. Something else had caught his attention though. Something out of place. He wasn't even sure he knew what it was. He followed Take and Blair to the top of the stairs, though he didn't once look where he was going, his eyes were instead fixed on the display case. He stopped at the top of the stairs squinting at it. The lighting was off, or maybe the shadows were wrong. Follow them down? Or investigate? Glowing donuts, or cursed bugs? Or both? It could be nothing, it could be something, there's definitely chocolate. Kipp took a breath and puffed it out, turning away from the stairs. Technically it's not stealing, they said the treats were free. And besides I wanted a Cafe Mocha and I just got a plain coffee.

Kipp ducked behind the counter and stuck his head inside the open shelves of the display case. Where's the light coming from?
"Where, where, where?" He whispered to himself staring hard at each delicious looking pasty. "Mmmm, chocolate glazed." a crooked smile pulled up one side of his face. Nothing weird here. He decided quickly grabbing one of them as he turned back to the stairs. Or, at least he tried to grab one. He frowned bending back over to stare hard at the donut he'd tried to grab. What? He put his hand out again trying to pick it up, but his hand just passed through it. His mouth dropped open, disappointed and surprised. They're holograms? or illusions of some kind! "That's just not fair!" He yelled, frustrated. "Why is there no chocolate? Who? Who does something like that?!" He demanded. Though there was no one in particular he was talking to.

Ellie grinned nodding “Let’s do it!”

"Yeah!" Annie shouted jumping up in the air with a flutter of her wings.

"C'mon!" Cameron tugged her down the stairs to a somber scene. Everyone was looking at Laurel, whose glasses reflected the huge blue stone's light in a rather ominous way. Not everyone was in the room yet. Wow, some people are slow pokes.

Ellie hooked her other arm through Annie’s and tugged her along. “Why does everyone look like someone died?” Ellie asked rather loudly

Annie shook her head squinting in the dark, she couldn't see much just the swirling designs on the big stone in the middle of the room. She smiled up at the shadow next to her, she guessed it had to be Ellie since she had dragged her down here, but she really couldn't make out her face in the darkness, just faint blue reflecting off a black blob.

"Because that Laurel dude's intensity makes everyone feel uncomfortable," Cam muttered in way of answer, though Ellie's question was rhetorically mannered.

Ellie fought back laughter. “So what is this dudes special power?” Ellie whispered looking between Cameron and Annie

"He's probably a vampire or something and is trying really hard to conceal it from everybody. I really feel sorry for the poor dude." Cam's suppressed snicker revealed that she really did not.

This was to much for Ellie who burst out laughing

Annie smiled along though she wasn't sure what exactly they were laughing about. I can't see anything in the dark. Maybe I should get glasses. Do glasses help with that? I would look great in glasses though.

Ellie watched Cameron quietly

"Did something happen?" Annie whispered, she couldn't see Cam or that Take had given the group a judgement glare. She couldn't even see Laurel who was lit up by the glow of the amulet. "Gah, I'm blind down here."

“We just got glared at by some dude in front of us” Ellie whispered her eyes straining to make out Annie.
