The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop- A Role Play

"Well, at least we're not teleporting straight out of here, right?" Colby had lapsed into a springy trot that had his tail bouncing. The majority of the group had long disappeared from view, but it was the few stragglers that cued him on in on their path. "It's awesome even without Stonehenge."
Brid hung back to wait for the two, glancing nervously at the darkening sky. “I’m gonna have to go back there some day. It’s really pretty.” She mused, looking at the ground as they walked. After a short period of silence, she blurted out, “I hope these bugs aren’t deadly. I’ve been considering this. What if one of us gets killed?” She gave a halfhearted smile and a laugh. “If these bugs are even real, that is.”
"True!" Fox picked up the pace too stay alongside him. "It's still really pretty. " A snarl of thunder rumbled across the sky, causing him to frown. As they approached Brid, he nodded at her words. "Y'know, you have a point. Like, plenty of bugs are poisonous..."

“You’re hungry?” Cam reached into her pocket, pulling out a few assorted dead leaves and an odd bit of root.
“Do you like dahlia petals?” she asked, waving the vermillion petals enticingly in front of the mouse. She had no idea if mice could eat them, but the something had been nibbling on them.
Haddie snatched a petal and began nibbling voraciously. She immediately started feeling better. However, as her stomach filled, her ankle started throbbing more. That could be an issue. While her stomach wasn't full enough for any kind of sustainability, she had enough energy to shift into something else small. Haddie backed away from the remnants of the dahlia petals, held up her paws to the brown skinned girl, gesturing for her to wait, and shifted into a parakeet. Her wing was bent at a funny angle, but she had to warn them first. There were kids in those woods. She couldn't leave them to fend for themselves-not like Sherry.
"Haddie! It's Haddie" she cried. "Woods attacked! Tried to kill! Kill!"
(So I'm just gonna say that she didn't actually get to eat any of the mushrooms bc it's hard to swallow when you're getting pummeled by trees.)

“Haddie?” Kyle piped up. “If you’re still hungry, you could’ve said so. I have cat treats for Rylie. And...” he shrugged apologetically, tiny people had a quick metabolism in order to power those fast little legs so he liked to keep a little sugar on him. “I also have a little something on my person.” He pulled out a hunk of sugary pastry that had obviously already been chewed on a bit. “Laurel may seem scary but you can’t discount his donut making skills.”

Cam cared little about donuts or pastries. Or the fact that the redheaded woman she had seen very briefly had been named Haddie, a fact that would have been useful for identifying the mouse. She was here now and that was all that mattered. “Woods attacked?” she repeated.

Haddie looked at Kyle, but jerked her head back to Cam.
"Trees-branches-around legs. Had to-had to-shift, to escape. Squeezed, tried to catch. Knew I didn't-didn't belong."

“Plants who can grab you? Why don’t you just turn back into a human now that you’re back though? Rylie almost ate you!” Cam was incredulous. Still, if there were somehow plants out there who could move, imagine what she could do with her powers! Ellie’s words came back to her. I could sprout a forest!
Suddenly, alarm bells went off in her head. The budgie in her hand had a twisted, broken wing. Something must have attacked her! And Ellie... she was in the forest! “We have to help Ellie!” She exclaimed.

Blair hissed as a branch shot out at her, snatching her wrist. With a growl, she wrenched her hand away. At hearing Take's yell, she twisted around and dashed after him, her feet barely touching the ground. "I'm coming!"
With a leap she cleared the fallen log, finally catching up with Take. "Keep going, keep going!"
Take kept pushing on, he gave Blair a nod when she caught up. The clearing was just within reach.

Blair ran, ran as fast as her feet would take her, pulling past Take and Ellie, her breath coming in sharp pants now. Her heart roared in her ears, but she didn't slow until she reached the clearing, which then she skidded to a halt, looking around the group. "Found them," she said, exhausted, gesturing to Take and Ellie, her legs trembling.

“And they’re here!” Kyle said, smiling as though he had known they were alright the whole time.

Take reached the clearing shortly after Blair and fell to his knees. He unloaded Ellie as he hunched over and closed his eyes, putting his forehead and hands on the ground. He was breathing heavily, his legs ached and he felt his heart pounding in his chest.
