The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop- A Role Play

The jovial morale was contagious. Cam began skipping up the steps. She pulled out one of the arrows which sprinkled the walls generously and joined the Take abuse.
She tickled his face with the soft, feathered end before ducking behind him, thankful for her small stature, and stifled a fountain of giggles erupting in her throat.

Kyle continued to be stoic.

Since Take was so focused on the steps, a sudden rush of anxiety filled him, the hairs on his neck stood straight up. His third eye caught the sight of Cam at the last second, but it was too late. His face twitched at the sensation of the feather, and some of it touched his nose, causing him to build up a sneeze. His breath was coming in gasps before he let out a powerful sneeze of which he aimed at the ground. The loud noise created a massive vibration and rumble in their tier of the castle. He growled back at Cam, who was hiding behind him, “Don’t get behind me like that!” He hissed, pushing her in front of him.

“Don’t sweat it” Take replied, also keeping focus on the steps for traps, “If you end up really not being able to keep up, you can always get on my back” he offered, just in case something ended up happening. Small clicks went off every other step or so, but nothing was sent out. He noticed the various arrows and lethal weapons that were scattered around, as if there had been a battle in the stairwell. Take couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle at the idea of the younger kids all suited up in armor with weapons, ready for a medieval fight.

Blair had merely given a soft hum at his words, continuing up the steps and lagging behind just a bit. One. Two. Click. One. Two. Three. Four. Click. Click. Click. Thud. THWACK!
She glanced up briefly, ducking, as arrows and a knife slammed against the wall, right where her head had been. Momentarily distracted, she didn't see what had happened, only Take yelling at Cam and pushing her in front of him.
She raced up the steps as quickly as possible, coming beside him. "Hey, it's okay. She was just playing, alright?" A hand came to his shoulder, resting there gently. "She didn't scare you purposely. She didn't know."

Take put a hand on the back of his neck, calming the scared little hairs. His eyes looked at Blair for a moment before retreating away.
“I know, but still. She was hiding behind me” he muttered softly.

Colby kept proceeding in a precise rhythm.

It was getting harder to concentrate, what with the commotion behind him, so he felt considerable relief when he realized they were coming up on the end of the stairway and therefore a new room.
Emboldened by this realization, he only realized he'd triggered the final defense when the telltale click announced it. Since he was working on panicked reflex, it was his hand that caught the soaring knife. White-hot pain flared through his palm and radiated up his arm as it burrowed itself into his flesh.
Biting back yelps that'd alert the whole country of his blunder, he jerked the long blade free with his other hand and worked it into one of his belt loops for future reference. He then stuffed his bleeding paw in his pocket and hopped the last few stairs, daring to hope that this chamber would be more welcoming than its entryway.

"I know, I know, but no one's going to hurt you. She couldn't have known that that was going to scare you." Blair said softly, glancing up the stairs. Colby had hopped up the last stair into darkness that appeared to be a room, and they were being left behind.
"Come on, we don't want to get left behind," she gave him a small smile, her hand falling away from his shoulder as she started back up the stairs.

Cam cowered in fear as something like an explosion erupted from Take’s nose.
Burning hot fingers shoved her forth, causing her to stumble into the stairs.
He didn’t do that to anyone else. That’s what I get for trying to have some fun. She sniveled and picked herself up, slowly walking up the rest of the steps, but she could feel his yellow eyes boring into the back of her head.

Kyle was shocked out of his grumpy stupor by the knife that soared overhead.
“You ok?” Kyle asked. He stared in amazement as the canine casually extracted the knife from his hand and set it into his belt. For a vegan he has surprisingly high pain tolerance. More than me, maybe.
Due to his life being a constant bombardment of small, grabby hands squeezing the stuffing out of him or large feet smushing him or even dogs trying to rip him to pieces, or even the occasional stairs Kyle was proud to say he could endure basically anything.
I suppose I’m not totally being fair.
Kyle was mostly vegetarian himself, due to the fact that meats were generally too coarse for his tiny jaws.

Annie jumped up and buzzed forward to hover next to Cam.
"Are you ok? I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt you." She said trying to cheer her up.
