"Then go back to the cave, Fred," Blair muttered, racing down the hall to where she had heard Ellie's voice. She paused in front of a door. Their scent was strong, and she could hear them behind it. She tried the doorknob, but it wouldn't budge.
So she slammed herself against the door.
Still didn't work.
"Stand back," she muttered. Her eyes flickered shut. I don't want to do this...I don't want to do this...but I have to.
She let the barriers down, letting the wolf's strength flow through her. When her eyes flickered open, they were glowing a brilliant gold. With no warning, she stepped back and slammed her weight into the door, grabbing the doorknob, twisting and pushing until it broke, and she was able to kick the door open.
It swung open halfway off it's hinges. But she just stood there, trembling, trying to force the wolf back. Get back. Not now.
The feral color of her eyes faded back to their normal gold-yellow, and she took a deep breath. "Ellie? Charlie? Are the two of you alright?"
stupid self locking doors.
