For dignities sake, I'm gonna pretend that this Dino wombat has it's pouch wrong way round.

Hehehe, I remember the existence of them, but, I never got a walkmen, or discman, so having one of those that wouldn't even play a whole song seemed stupid to me. I only ever once bought an mp3 player.... like a portable one, and it was like 3 years ago for one of my kids. It broke rather quickly. So anyways, more about my band director. This happened today.“Speaking of ‘In Sync’... As in the 90’s band...” he says. “When I was a kid we had these thing’s called chip players, before I-Pods, we used them to play music.” (Keep in mind he’s a Millennial.)
He makes a gesture to show the size of the object, about 3 inches long. “They were this big, and cost about 12 dollars. In order to play music we had to get microchips, 5 bucks each.” He moves his fingers together to show the size of a microchip. “They played about 30 seconds of a pop song, with terrible audio. And they were a big deal in the 2000s. Like this:” he cups a hand over his mouth and hums into his hand, doing an imitation of thirty seconds of a song with bad audio. “For 5 whole dollars!”
Then he deepens his voice and his blue eyes are full of mirth and he says: “In my day we had chip players and we were happy!”
“Ok Boomer,” a band member says. We all break out laughing.
As someone who is not allowed to have a phone, I literally used to carry my tablet with me when I did stuff so I could listen to music. After I got an MP3 player it changed everything, especially as someone who really enjoys music.Hehehe, I remember the existence of them, but, I never got a walkmen, or discman, so having one of those that wouldn't even play a whole song seemed stupid to me. When I used to not be able to have a phone, I used my tablet for music just like you. And now that I have one... I still use it for music. As someone who is not allowed to have a phone, I literally used to carry my tablet with me when I did stuff so I could listen to music. After I got an MP3 player it changed everything, especially as someone who really enjoys music.
Anyway, a chip player does sound stupid. Who wants to listen to half a song?
It would be nice to have both hands free, but I kill myself with headphones on and wandering, they constantly get caught on stuff, IF I even have pockets. As someone who is not allowed to have a phone, I literally used to carry my tablet with me when I did stuff so I could listen to music.
