The most exciting thermometer/incubation question ever!

Another Duh, maybe...
Most incubator thermometers don't range from freezing to boiling
(which can vary with geographical elevation-look it up),
why I prefer using human medical therms for testing, right range and tight tolerance.

Lol! Unfortunately I had that “duh moment” and broke my thermometer.

If your two are reading that closely together, at those specific temps, I'd be pretty happy with that. Both of those temperatures are fine for incubating.

Does the Incuview have a notch for a turner cord? I'm assuming not since it wasn't tried or mentioned, but if it does have one, I'd snake the probe cord through that.

Of course I ruined the one thermometer by submerging it in water! I did buy another two thermometers and a good food thermometer that I calibrated last night. The food thermometer was at 32.1 F in a bowl of ice water (fresh out of the freezer), so I am going with the food thermometer. The food thermometer is 2.5 degrees more than the incubator thermometer. Once my other two thermometers get here l, I will really have a better idea. I’m obsessed and my eggs will be here tomorrow!

Ice alone isn't enough, you need to do it in boiling too. And honestly, after calibrating with ice and boiling enough, I have moved onto aart's method/preference of using a human medical thermometer and hot tap water.

I did test my own body temp with the food thermometer. It read 98.8, so I had assumed it was a good temp. I’ll try the boiling water method now as well, and I need to reread aart’s hot water method. Thanks!
