It's been a hectic weekend here. Family things going on and not for the better.

I had to set my eggs late last night and I was pulling eggs out from my last hatch (lots of staggered hatches right now) this was my hatch from 2 days ago and I thought they were done. Even brought the humidity down, Big mistake. I found more DIS with pips, but managed to get 2 out alive that were shrink wrapped. I got the humidy back up just in case. Wish I had just left it alone in the first place. So I have another chick from my Lav Egg project

and finally got a lav AM since separating them from some other breeds. Sure is a pretty little chick. The last hatch didn't do well at all. I really need to get my Sportsman checked out. I have a new heating element and the thermostat was replaced in July of 2010, so it should be working, but when I bought my new thermometer, my temps are going from 97 to 98. My hatches are sometimes 2 days late, so after I get some things done the next 2 days I'm going to be moving eggs to the LGs and see if that helps. If so, I'll be working on the Sportsman. This hatch had problems, but not like Easter, so I think I'm getting things worked out and figuring out what my problems have been and what's working and what's not. Might be time to break down and build another cabinet bator. Maybe after I get the hoop coops finished.

Hope these chicks finish drying so I can get them in the brooder before I can't keep my eyes open.

Okay Java--set 13 in this am plus will throw in whatever the girls lay today. Hoping my fertility rate went up with the trimmed cushions. Go silkies go!

Okay I'm so tempted... Other than having to stack eggs on top of each other...Will Some one Please Discourage me from Joining this hatch!!!!!!!

I'm serious now, I'm probably going to have to convert the spare bedroom to a brooder - seriously ------ Who at BYC will tell me not to start a hatch today....Please some one
