The move from Oregon to KY is over the work begins...Very Pic Heavy

Wowee, what a place you have! I LOVE the land/barn, etc.

Don't worry too much about the aesthetics of the house.

We moved into our home approx 6 years ago and had some of the same inventive colors/wall decor that you find yourself faced with. It's all re-doable

My husbands office was splatter/sponge painted in shades of pink/purple/blue/green and there were big parts of it that still had the blue tape on it

Some of it was just left in white

ODD ODD ODD!!!!

Our kitchen was wallpapered in a dark green "hunter" color, the dining room in red paisley wallpaper and white carpet - GADS! The master bedroom was done in pink latex paint which we peeled off in sheets to find baby blue paint underneath.

We peeled so much wallpaper off it's ridiculous. New paint, new floors, new countertops, etc etc. Makes the whole house look different. It's neat and funny to go back and look at what we used to live in and wonder how we survived as long as we did with the colors

Can't wait to see the new look! You have a great place to work with!

I'm glad you took before photos. Now you can take 'work-in-progress' photos and then some when complete. We did that for our house and its fun to look back on what we started with, compared to where we are now.

Hope you've managed to shake off the residual stress from travelling and are having a better time now!!!

Cetawin-You scored big time on everything but that butt ugly paint and the carpet......I must say

I LIKE IT!

I wish I was close enough to come help you work on it...I'd LOVE fixing something like that up!! SOOO much potential!! Love the style of the place, and the grounds. BEAUTIFUL beautiful potential!!!

I didn't read all the posts, but I could tell from the exterior you got a deal. Don't know what you paid, but its a deal!!!! I had to laugh because I see this type of decorative colors and trim in a lot of homes of this style!!! made me laugh. I want to see more as you do the int. because its gonna be a showcase when you are done!!!

Cetawin,
Thanks for sharing the story of your incredible journey. Good job getting all your critters transported safely.
And thanks for sharing the "hideousness" with all of us. That was awesome.....it truly made me laugh.
I would tolerate much "hideousness" in exchange for that sweet barn and pasture.......
congratulations and enjoy!

Ky is so beautiful!
You are so brave! I couldn't imagine making a move like that! I think I'm tough and adventurous but, I've had the same job for 17 years and before that I was at that job for 8 years.
I wish you the best in your new home and can't wait to see how it comes along. It has so much character and charm. That barn is a jewel too. A few hauls and a bon fire and you have allot of space to sprawl!
Props to you!
