-The Mythics RP-

Lupin followed the harpies (or...were they phoenixes? They both used flame, after all) down the docks and along the rows of ships. She came here often to stare at the majestic clippers and galleons, bobbing gently in the water, but had never boarded one. She had always done her business on the shore. With a slightly mournful glance at Ember, flying smoothly and gracefully along the waves. Wings... wings would be wonderful. But she was by no standards a harpy, phoenix, or even wyvern. So she was happy with her strong jumping legs and thick, warm fur. She saw, out of the corner of her eye, Ember listing to the side. Lupin frowned, wondering what she was doing, but before she could ask, Ember swerved back on track... and bulleted toward a set of furled sails, stark masts, and bowed wood planks floating among the rest.
"Is that your ship?" she asked Coal, hating how much her voice sounded like a scared pup's. "What's it called?"
“I—I’ve forgotten,” Coal admitted. He didn’t know how to read, and if Vanya had mentioned the name, it went in one ear and out the other.
Once again, people were blocking the gangplank with their indecisiveness. A Siren lady stood on the deck at one end of the gangplank and a man and a woman lingered on the other end. But Lupin couldn’t just fly over their heads. And all three of those people looked dangerous. He decided to stop several meters away in order to watch their conversation at a safe distance.
Coal was learning. He didn’t want another pistol aimed at his skull.

(Honestly, I’d be confused too.)

"Why are we waiting?" Lupin asked, adding a note of challenge to her voice. "Can't we go?"
These people didn't look half as scary as a full-grown mountain lion, and the two birdpeople had thrown caution out the window when they saved her from the Changing.

Lupin was apparently braver than Coal thought. If not for the (werewolf) lady, he might have stomped headlong through the crowd and up the gangplank regardless of his fears. “You know what? I don’t know,” Coal said. It would be cowardly to let Lupin fend for herself and force her way up the gangplank while he landed on the ship. So he slunk forward and tried to squeeze past the man and woman standing at the base of the gangplank.
So he of course

With a growl, Lupin marched forward, following Coal. It was abysmal, she thought. Why should the six-foot-tall werewolf have to swim out to this ship? Like they can stop me anyway, she snapped inwardly.
