-The Mythics RP-

This comes back to my previous note that officer's hammocks are sometimes just a hanging bed, with a wood frame and light mattress and everything

Idk what Coal, Gecko, Lichen, Galen, and all the OTHER Harpies on the ship are gonna do, but at least I have a solution for Ember
Guys this proves that being mean pays off

"Absolutely." She nodded, sniffing her warming nose and rolling up the tight sleeves of her dress.
She was relieved to see him.
"Nice soul, that one."
Jintao glanced at the door. Ember? A nice soul? He would have laughed if the circumstances were different. Nevermind that, Jintao told himself. Any remark he had against the Quartermistress he'd keept to himself. It wasn't his call to talk poorly about her, not even to Tay.
"Mm, perhaps," his smile was both fake and momentary.
His eyes followed the awkward grip on his blade and stopped with a check-in on Tay's position. His position was already poor, and she had not yet pulled out her own small weapon. He lowered himself to a fighting position then straightened himself back to his normal height.
"Please," his eyes begged on accident, "let's keep this quiet and quick. I have no doubt that you know how to use your weapon, but it's a bit awkward for me. I need to familiarize myself with this and with the Captain wanting me, I don't want to waste much time."
Jintao didn't wait for Tay's response. If she had something to say, she could say it well enough while they danced. He swung his blade, expecting Tay's to met his, and kept watch in case she decided to delay.

The woman side-stepped, and her hands jerked up to her hair. "Everything sacred, Jintao." She danced two steps back, gathering curls. "Breathe, man, breathe." Locks tied away, her hands dropped, and fingers shimmered with steel as she flipped and shifted the weapon between knuckles. "Perhaps now you'd like to begin," she half scoffed, biting the edge of her tongue as she ground her sored heels into the stiff boots.

A legit smile found Jintao's face this time. She moved too easy- too slick. Her words were caution though. He sucked in a deep breath and let it out. He was too tight, and that was going to get him nowhere. Perhaps a sliced throat, he gave himself a nod, if he wasn't to careful.
Jintao spun on a toe, forgetting that Tay probably wasn't familiar with his kind of fight, and locked onto her sparkling eyes. "Yes," he said, forgotten excitement returning.

His smile filled Tay's humor, though her resolute expression was not impacted.
"Your move, cripple." She cocked her head, still flipping blades. Her eyes searched his eager frame, and she doubted his accuracy in this fresh state.
Oh, it was good to flirt with danger.
