Lichen extended her arm, allowing the falcon to step from Galen's arm onto her own. "Quasar," she repeated, wincing slightly as the birds sharp talons pricked her skin under her sleeves. She could feel the strength that the raptor's yellow talons contained as they gripped her arm, the dangerous claws curling. The sun caught on the bird's tawny feathers, making his golden eye glint. "Wow," Lichen said. "His wings kind of look like mine." She extended her own warm brown wings to demonstrate, slowly so as to not spook Quasar.

“Definitely more interesting than mine,” Galen nodded as he folded his wings tightly behind his back. "Though the extra stealth is appreciated when it comes to blending in."
He kept his eyes on Quasar, not sure what he might do about being passed off to someone else. "This fellow is the closest I've got to family and very helpful in finding smithing customers, though," he sighed, "I dare say, I almost wish he hadn't found this one."
