-The Mythics RP-

"What does that mean." She said, shaking her head. "What does being a rebel mean?"
Jintao opened his mouth, then closed it. That was something he was sure of, but not like what Tay would understand. He was a rebel from the Destruction and the crew he had served for years. An ex-pirate, as some liked to say.
"You're either for or against the King. If you’re a Rebel, you're against."

"Well, that's stupid. Freedom? Liberation? Health, wealth, prosperity? Our society isn't flourishing, Jintao, it's failing, and staying you're against the King only makes you look more like a fool than a hero."

"Yeah, it does," he said rather abruptly. "Personally, it means none of that to me. Every part of rebelling," he motioned his head to his missing arm, "has gotten me nowhere. Freedom is what I hope for, but so far, I haven't found it."

"You can't only hope. You have to act, too. What is freedom? Are there limits? Boundaries? How can you get through life without answering such questions? Of course you haven't found it, you don't even know what you're looking for."

"I did act." Jintao turned away. Pain deepened in his soul and his depression reminded him of its presence. He stood on the edge of the dock wishing his troubles could go away. He let out another sigh and hung his head. He didn't have the answers.
He held out his hand. "Limits," he finally said.

"This is where we split off then. Our agendas aren't remotely similar, and I've grown tired of sacrificing precious time to fit your irregular needs."
"A ship is what you wanted, isn't it?" He spun around. Everything in his life was wrong. "You're the reason why I even signed onto this."
She cleared her throat, hesitating. "I was not searching for this blind-gig set-up with a hot siren chic, alright? Alright." She raised her hands, a defensive position. "I have a history with everyone of those men frequenting the bar last night. These are my roots here, and I did not need you to drag me along into this. That is simple truth. I don't know what you're thinking."
"Interesting," Jintao furrowed his brows, "I wasn't the one sleeping. The way you were going at things, we would of never got a ship." He studied his surroundings for a second. Nautalis was nowhere to be seen. He stepped toward Tay. "For your information, I'm not looking for a date, and if that's how you see things, you're wrong."
She smiled and looked away. "Can you attempt at sensibility for just a moment? You know nothing about this situation. You don't even know who I am. You don't know what I've done. You don't know, Jintao. What information were you given? Why am I expected to abide to a plan I've never agreed to?"
Jintao's shoulders sunk as he let out a sigh. "I think we know each other about as much as either of us will allow." His calm attempted its return while biting at the crushing fears that rose his anger. "This siren is for the Rebels, which I am assuming you are one, or are thinking of joining." His thoughts reminded him of the danger the siren showed should he have answered her wrong, or not at all.
"Maybe I'm wrong for expecting you to abide, but maybe I just feel like this is the best option for both of us."
"For the rebels." She scoffed. "Heavens, is that what you are?"
Jintao lost eye contact. "I am now," he said with a slight nod. "Before last night, I'm not sure what I was, except for what I was forced to be." He still wasn't sure what he was, as he still felt forced.
"What does that mean." She said, shaking her head. "What does being a rebel mean?"

Nautulis pulled herself over the splinter-ridden planks on the boardwalk's edge, glancing up the fog-smothered dock for signs of any movement aside from the two bickering humans silhouetted ahead.
She stood, flicking heavy dark hair over her shoulder and twisting it in a sharp motion, spilling droplets of saltwater over the damp boards, keeping a sharp eye trained on Jintao and Tay.
She drug a hand through the strands, separating the locks and twisting them over, knitting the locks together as she tilted a head toward the humans, trying to listen, vainly, to their argument. The woman was proving a bit of a nuisance already, her posture, the faint notes of her tone highlighted with fiery spite. Heaven forbid she scold Jintao out of his deal- Nautilus didn't want to have to take care of both of them, should the situation slip too far from her grasp.
The siren flicked the messy braid across her back again, brushing the bobbing strands of half-dried hair from her face and straightening, yanking the soaked scarf from the light cloth bag slung across her chest. She flicked the sea-green cover almost with a flourish before draping it over her head and around her face with quick, practiced hands.
Nautilus brushed the wet creases from her clothes, readjusting the sleeve of her shirt before starting toward the humans, footsteps nearly silenced by bare feet as she approached.

The multi-quote on this, my word 😭 I felt like I couldn't write 2 sentences before there was another response

"What limits." Tay glanced at the approaching woman, wondering if Jintao would continue their conversation in front on her.
