-The Mythics RP-

Vhanya stood at the foredeck, boot tapping lightly against the waxed boards, her yellow eyes flicking about the ship.
Without looking towards her, she gestured in Lichen’s direction.
ā€You’ll learn when it’s needed. Now, I need you to hunt down the Harpy fellow who left so suddenly, I’d like to have everyone in my sight by sundown; we’ll start with him.ā€

She started towards the aftercastle, and waved a hand at Raven for his attention.
ā€You’ll be my helmsman, I’ve no doubt you can steer a ship, you’ve got the arms of someone accustomed to a whipstaff.ā€
She slowed, looking to both Lichen and Raven, ā€œyou two can choose your own cabins for now, there are quarters in both the forecastle and aft.ā€œ
ā€You there, Eerie-ā€œ she reached into her coat to procure a hefty bag of coin- ā€œI want you to go and buy me a month’s worth of provisions, nothing more, nothing less. Tell them Marriott sent you and there won’t be any trouble.ā€ She looked up to meet his gaze, ā€œand don’t try running off, I think you’re smarter than to do so anyways.ā€

She tossed the sack of coins at his feet, then resumed walking towards the aftercastle, ā€œI’m expecting results from the both of you by sunset!ā€ She called, relishing the commanding tone her voice carried.

Vhanya made her way through the steerage to the cabins and stopped at the locked door of her own. From beneath the collar of her shirt she loosed a small necklace, a silver key dangling from its neat chain.
She unlocked the door with a satisfying click, taking care to shut it quietly behind her.

The cabin had gathered a layer of dust after her month’s absence, she stepped over to her desk and brushed it off as best as she was able, she made a note to herself to have the cabin tidied up before they set sail.
She turned fully around, smiling softly as her eyes travelled around the familiar room: The fine red curtains around their small window, which looked out onto the soft morning light that set the port’s waters a-sparkle: Her bookshelves, holding an assortment of maps, literature, and records kept: The small, comfortable bunk in the corner, and her hat hanging on its hook beside the door.

She stopped at the desk to light a candle, still sitting in its holder as it was a month ago, then sat down, pulling out the drawer of the desk to retrieve her logbook.

"Can do", Lichen said. Without another word, she leapt into the air, beating her striped brown wings and ruffling everyone on the deck. Soon she was flying over Pirates Cove.

Galen. Cool falcon guy. Got it.

She was hyperaware of the fact that she was flying in plain sight right now. Ah, well. A problem for later.

(Guys I forgot where Galen went-)

(ah, i forgot he was supposed to be hunted down, would it make things smoother to delete my last part and she can come looking and actually find him? )

ā€œHow long will your trip take that you need to keep working?ā€ Martha asked. She sighed. ā€œWell, you know I can only stay until noon, I have the kids to take care of… but as long as I can depend upon Erin to close, I can keep your promise.ā€ Erin was a lad that came as Martha left. He watched the register for a few hours before closing the bakery and preparing everything for the following day.
(Oh yeah, I forgot to tag @Layna )

"Keep. Your. Voice. Down."
Ember's voice hissed with rage, her clawed hands curling as she fought back the tidal wave of firey anger threatening to flood her composure.
"There's a lot more to pirates and sailing than you would know from mere 'books.' And no, I am not a pirate. I'm just working with one temporarily."
The Harpy straightened, falling silent for a long moment as she thought, staring at the wolf with the faint remnants of annoyance in her gaze.
"Why do you ask, specifically?"

ā€œYes, we are pirates!ā€ Coal said excitedly. ā€œAnd we are recruiting people, do you wanna join?ā€
Coal was not one for subtlety nor for beating around the bush.

Lupin's eyes glowed. "Do you have an actual ship?" she asked, awestruck.
That's your most pressing concern? Lupin's mind said snarkily.
Shut up, me, Lupin replied.
Then she turned to the other harpy, the one who had used fire like a phoenix had.
"I know more than you think. I know the ropes of a ship, and the different sails and all the cannons. I can tell you how to sail in a strong wind and anything else you can ask for. I ask because my grandfather sailed on a ship, and my grandmother, and both their fathers too. My father was scared of the ocean," she added, sounding rather disgusted. "Also, I'm very tired of hunting for a living. I'd much rather live on a ship, where things happen and there's no stupid poison sumac everywhere you turn and you never get GORED by stinking villagers who think you're a demon for you-know-where."
She crossed her arms with finality, forgetting that a large furry upright wolf cannot cross its arms. The result was anything but serious and mature.
