Would it be considered cheating (no longer natural) to create a coop area in one of the rooms (complete with lots of real) grass in lots of trays all over the room? I really really want my chickens but this house is amazing! And quite a bargain, too. If I had lots of natural light and carpeted the room with grass, would they be happy?![]()
All of my shipped eggs that went into lock down have exterior piped. I am a wreck. I need sleep. All my eggs have hatched that are going to hatch. I just want to be done. These chicks are eating that FF like it is pure honey. I have one pasty butt..wierd
I should have specified, I am on the iPad.
The mobile version, even on the iPad, is a bit odd. Took me a bit to find the buttons to navigate away from the home page.
i had one chick once with pasty butt. Back when I used to believe chicks needed 95 degree's F of heat........ Are you talking chicks only with pasty butt or hens?Wait so how many have not hatched? Your last part was confusing
I get pasty butt still in the first couple days. Until the FF gets into their systems. I used to have terrible issues with the paste. Not anymore!
I use android phone and on the BLOG if you go to the bottom of the page you can switch the view to full website/desktop. same goes for BYC. I like the mobile version of BYC but the desktop version of the Blog.

sorry..i am so tired..i will probably read what i wrote and not understand it myself.
My eggs that i put in (from my bird) are all hatched

The town allows chickens but there is no yard. The room I'm thinking of is really huge. Actually a little bigger than the coop I planned to build them. That's why I thought to compensate for their being no yard for them to forage, in I would carpet the room with grass and hide mealworms and crickets so they wouldnt feel like they were in a factory. And there is a lot of natural light. Still no?.Sorry, but both you and they would be miserable! If you really want to keep chickens that badly, you need to keep looking. Perhaps the perfect place (in a town that allows chickens) is just around the corner.
