The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

@Leah's Mom: This is what was on my computer as I was looking at them on Amazon.

Thanks!

I think there might be 2 stores around here that carried those last winter. I'm going to check those this year to see..that way I can try them on.

I was using the regular atlas, green palm gloves the last 2 years. They worked pretty well but no insulation so if you were working with anything wet, it conducted through pretty quickly. The extra insulation might be really nice!

I'm not very good at working with my hands with ANY glove on. But those non-insulated ones worked pretty well. I still had to take them off if I was going to try to do anything that required good finger control.

the windpants are made by clam corp, who is mostly known for its portable icefishing shelters. they are called "Icearmor fleecelined windpants" and fit like sweatpants.

oh, found a link: http://www.gandermountain.com/modpe...sc=Ice-Armor-Fleece-Lined-Wind-Pants&i=431076

I got them one or two winters ago at fleet farm, and I think they are hard to come by now.

Thanks! (Though I was hoping for elastic wasties..

"Blizzard" time around here. Very windy, snowing, and lots 14 degrees regular temp...(wind chill much lower of course).

I feel so bad for one of my old girls that just all of a sudden has begun her molt...way bad timing and the feathers are just flying off of her if she flaps her wings or whatever. I actually put an apron on her this evening as her back and much of the rest of her is almost totally bare. And she's miserable :(

Here to. I still haven't gotten any hay bales for around the coop. I did get one from a co worker but I still need a few more. My girls who molted hard still look featherless.

21 here with snow and high winds.
The chicks in the outside brooder are all huddled up together and the rabbits have made burrows.
