Ok - trying to understand the blue genetics!

Our EE girls look like they will have single combs - I'm not sure what they are crossed with but the hens were blue wheaten ameraucana and the farm keeps wyandottes and orps and sussex as well.








We originally got the "Ameraucana's" for the blue eggs - my daughter will be begging for a real ameraucana if she doesn't get any blue eggs

They appear to have pea combs in the pictures. I think you'll get either blue or green. My EEs lay blue.

Can't see the comb in the bottom pic, but top one looks like a small pea and the middle looks like a modified single comb. You have the possibility for a blueish egg. If you want real blue though your best bet is pure Ameraucana or Cream Legbars(expensive, but lay a VERY blue egg)

Doesn't stand for a darn thing! Disappointing isn't it? Made it up when I was 12 years old and it's been my username since. Just stuck.

A friend and I had scrambled up some letters at random and that's what I came up with. We were making character names for drawings.
