The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

Can any paper towels be composted.....we use the Walmart brand, I think....hubby buys them. But I use LOTS of paper towels. I am good about other things....but not paper towels. I need to work on that. But I have started composting again and I can throw in the towel, lol.

I think all paper towels can be composted....

Thinking about that it makes sense....I used non glossy newspaper in lasagna gardening.
Thnx.....more to compost and less waste

Isn't it the greatest way to get rid of weeds?! We bought our place a couple years ago and all the gardens were completely filled with grass. After trying to clear them the back breaking way multiple times I covered the whole works with cardboard and deep litter. My husband thought I was insane but a few months later we had beautiful grass and weed free gardens. :)

I think it is the same idea, these hot snaps. I have the feeling mine aren't as expensive....different brand. I haven't used them yet!

I keep my house very cool (60) and think next time I have a guest who is chilly, I'll give the reuseable ones to them to hold while I get the fire going.

I was getting ready to order some of the gloves since my prior pair had "bit the dust" but my husband was going to be stopping at a different Menards than I normally go to so I asked him to look and see if they had any. (Last ones I got from a hardware that's in a farming area not too far from here).

Anyhow, he looks, but then he tells me that he has some that are similar to those that I can look at.

Turns out he has a 4-pack of black insulated gloves with the grip palm (stamped on it is RW not Atlas) that he had purchased to carry in his car so that when he sees folks walking out in the bitter cold he'll stop to see if they need help and gives them a pair of gloves if they don't have one on.

Anyhow, those gloves are perfect. Even better than my old Atlas ones.

And he'll get more to keep in the car....he still has 3 pairs!

Does any one use or know of a good resource for using essential oil with poultry? Thanks

The Google query pulls up 632 thousand results so something there might work.
