The Natural History of the Chicken on TV tonight

I was a bit disappointed in it, since I thought it would be a real natural history of the chicken. Does anyone know of a good documentary that is really about the history and domestication of the chicken?

if you have netflix its on there or its on PBS every so often too

Not a documentary, but a really good book on the subject is Home to Roost by Bob Sheasly. He's a great writer, very entertaining, and the info is great, the lore fascinating.

Eliza and Cotton the Rooster are AWSOME!

my thought exactly- But I really liked the story about Liza the Silkie hen. And I saw the chicken cpr lady on Letterman or some talk show before.

My nieces were here this weekend. They were questioning the reason I had chickens and the fact the eggs taste better. I made them watch the part (on Youtube) about the chickens that lay for stores and are kept 5 to 6 in a cage and never get to spread their wings. Then I relay the story I read on this forum about the guy in Michigan that rescued one of those birds off the truck on its way to the soup factory. It was so used to being in that cage that it could barely walk and didn't know how to drink from a tray or forage. He gave it a nice home but he had to borrow a couple hens from a buddy to teach it how to eat and drink. Then we go out back and spend some time with mine...
I think I made my point. And if I didn't, they ate eggs for breakfast and really noticed the difference.
