Well, how dare she? One of my freeloading six month old EEs finally laid her first egg this morning and then proceeded to sit on it with 2 other eggs and began picking up sawdust and hay and building a fluffier nest.

I snatched the eggs, and gently lifted her out of the nest and scooted her out of the coop. The nerve of her contemplating going broody after laying only one egg![IMG]

she was only thinking about you though, honest she was.

    Hatched egg=more layers in 5-6 months=more eggs

Collected egg=another empty tummy tomorrow morning

My red sex link was lingering on her egg this morning too and I scooted her over and stole her egg. About 15 min later she was still in the nest so I went over and lifted her out of the nest box and lowered her to the floor and let go, *THUMP* she goes onto the floor right on her stomach (legs still tucked in)! I think she was feeling a bit broody this morning [IMG]

yep it's that time! Big Sis laid an egg and sat in the box all night on it, instead of roosting with Little Sis, Penny, and Blue. Blue paced all night trying to get her out of there and up to the roost.
