The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

For those that missed out, I will probably have another 3 or 4 to post Monday so keep trying

Just a suggestion. For those that are using cell phones -- it might be best to end the auction when you have access to a computer. Seems like you don't get all of the info on a cell phone. The last auction was called incorrectly because of the use of a cell phone. I don't think the phones let you see all of the data.

Definitely looked like abmaddox1981 won that one to me. Their bid and Cris290's bid came through at the same time and abmaddox1981's bid was higher. Not sure how that was called to be Cris290's win.

I've seen some differences between some people also, where they say that the auction ends at say 5:00. but some people take any bids until 5:00:59 while others accept bids only until 4:59:59 meaning the auction ENDED at exactly 5:00:00 (last group of numbers = seconds...) so maybe there should be some sort of standard, that if an auction ends at 5, then any accepted offers would have to be time stamped PRIOR to 5... (aka 4:49) or until 5:00 (5:01 is too late).

and under your preferences you can tell byc to show you the time and date stamp rather than how long ago... so I see date and time for every post.

the problem with this is not everyone has an actual time of day timestamp. I thought it was just my cellphone but when I checked my computer it was the same, just a minutes ago stamp with no seconds.

Show absolute timestamps in post headers <--- The exact wording for the option under "My Profile; Edit Account Details"

Even with that argument of the last-minute mark though, at 1:59, it would have been smfildes (Cris290 bid the same amount AFTER smfildes, so it would have defaulted to smfildes). At 2:00, it would have been abmaddox1981 (smfildes bid the same amount as abmaddox1981, so again it would have defaulted to abmaddox). Neither would have been Cris290.

And no, live feed does NOT work correctly on cell phones because of the cell tower feedback delay.

But it's over now, and behind all of us. It's too late to fix this one. We ALL know better for next time.
