The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

BIN Set #2/23a $65 shipping included
Eggs will be shipped Monday February 24th if payment is received by 12pm PST, otherwise eggs will ship on Tuesday Feb 25th.

To buy this BIN, please reply with SOLD, and list the breeds and eggs quantities you want in your BIN package

Hi, I think this format seems popular last week so I thought I would list some more. Sorry, not as many eggs/breeds to choose from this week so I will be adding in some Sulmtaler eggs as substitutes. Sorry, but I have to charge a little extra for the substitues if they are selected.

I am offering 20 eggs of Your Choice from 4 different breeds, plus Sulmtaler eggs as substitutes if you choose that option. Once Set #2/23a is sold, I will post Set #2/23b based on the breeds and # of eggs that are left. If all goes well, I may list a 3rd set but the 3rd set may be for less eggs.

Please note:
There is no minimum per breed, but there is a Maximum per breed which is listed in parenthesis( # max). Once the first set sells and buyer chooses breeds/eggs the second set will be listed based on remaining eggs.

Breeds and Quantity to choose from.
Bresse (max 20 max)
Basque Euskal Oiloa (20 max)
Cuckoo Orpington Project (4 max)
Orange Laced Barred Polish Project (4 max)

* Sulmtaler Substitute: add $2 per egg (20 max)

Breed Descriptions

Sulmtaler
Our bloodlines include birds imported by Greenfire Farm and Widget Creek farm. We have two roosters and 8 hens in our breeding pens. Sulmtalers are renown for the excellent meat qualities. I like them because they are adorable. Sulmtalers can be a bit shy but once they know and trust you they are very friendly and always under foot looking for treats.

Orange Laced Barred Polish Project (see website for info on project)
This is a Project. We DO NOT guarantee you will hatch birds with the pattern shown in the photos. Please see our website for history on this project. http://www.juststruttinfarm.com/breeds.html

Basque Euskal Oiloa
We have owned Basque since 2011, The birds you see in the photo are the 3rd generation raised on our farm. Our birds come from James Meeks of Skyline Poultry. We had our first ever 100% hatch rate from shipped eggs which to me is a great indication of a lines health and vigor.

Since we acquired the birds, we have been selectively breeding for correctness. We hatched over 100 Basque in 2013 and chose the 10 we are using as breeders this year. All of our breeders have yellow legs and good coloring. Our breeding goals include breeding birds with broader chests and wider backs.

Basque are an ideal breed for both breeders and backyard enthusiasts. For starter, Basque eggs seem to ship and hatch better than many breeds. The egg shell quality is excellent. Basque have friendly calm temperaments and the hens lay large brown eggs and are non-broody. Basque are not auto-sexing, but by 3-4 weeks you can begin to discern the boys from the girls based on body color.

Bresse
Our Bresse are young in these photos. I need to get some updated photos. Sorry.

We acquired 12 eggs and hatched 10 birds in May 2013. The breeder (Chiquita) we purchased our eggs from got her breeding stock from Green Fire Farms. Of the 10 eggs that hatched, we ended up with 7 girls and 3 boys. We chose the biggest and most robust 4 pullets and 2 cockerels as our breeders.

I had heard Bresse were indifferent with people, but that has not been my experience. I find them friendly and curious. I have limited experience with the Bresse, but so far I have been very happy with them.

Cuckoo Orpington Project
I have an English Orpington Cuckoo Orpington Rooster, in with 4 Black English Orpington hens and a Lavender 50% English Orpington hen.
