6+ Bielefelder Eggs from Free Range Organic Adults

We purchased 30 day old chicks from Greenfire farms last season and have reduced our stock down to the most beautiful and healthy of the chicks. We chose the largest most vibrant of the birds so that we would only produce the best.

We are very proud of our birds. We feed them only organic non-GMO feeds and fresh veggies and greens. They are free range as well so that we can provide your embryos with the best nutrition and the best start.

We maintain a very high rooster to hen ratio to insure fertility (2 roos to 7 hens). We can't guarantee hatch rates due to the uncertainty of shipping but we do our best to pack the eggs to keep them safe.

We have owned many many breeds of chicken and these are hands-down our favorite. They are so docile and friendly. The roosters are magnificent and kind to their hens. The roosters even respect my toddler! They are heavy enough to be used as meat birds but they lay really well. They are so easy going and fun to work with! Did I mention the autosexing chicks! It is so great to be able to tell the boys from the girls from day one.

We are getting way more eggs then I can keep up with.

These eggs will ship either Friday 3/28 or Monday 3/3 and will haven been laid that day or Sunday.

Bidding starts at $35

Shipping will be $12 and you can upgrade at cost to overnight if requested.

AUCTION ENDS 2/28/2014 at 7:00PM CST

Have Fun!

I just posted a video on our site of some of our birds. http://www.juststruttinfarm.com/breeds.html.

You will need to scroll to the bottom. Sorry the video is a bit choppy because I think 2 minutes may be too long. Oh well. It's there if you want to try viewing the birds in action.

Basque Euskal Oiloa
We have owned Basque since 2011, The birds you see in the photo are the 3rd generation raised on our farm. Our birds come from James Meeks of Skyline Poultry. We had our first ever 100% hatch rate from shipped eggs which to me is a great indication of a lines health and vigor.

Since we acquired the birds, we have been selectively breeding for correctness. We hatched over 100 Basque in 2013 and chose the 10 we are using as breeders this year. All of our breeders have yellow legs and good coloring. Our breeding goals include breeding birds with broader chests and wider backs.

Basque are an ideal breed for both breeders and backyard enthusiasts. For starter, Basque eggs seem to ship and hatch better than many breeds. The egg shell quality is excellent. Basque have friendly calm temperaments and the hens lay large brown eggs and are non-broody. Basque are not auto-sexing, but by 3-4 weeks you can begin to discern the boys from the girls based on body color.

Bresse
We acquired 12 eggs and hatched 10 birds in May 2013. The breeder (Chiquita) we purchased our eggs from got her breeding stock from Green Fire Farms. Of the 10 eggs that hatched, we ended up with 7 girls and 3 boys. We chose the biggest and most robust 4 pullets and 2 cockerels as our breeders.

I had heard Bresse were indifferent with people, but that has not been my experience. I find them friendly and curious. I have limited experience with the Bresse, but so far I have been very happy with them.

Cream Legbars
Egg color varies from Sky Blue to blue/green. Most of the eggs you will be receiving will be hen eggs, but we have a couple pullets in the mix as well.

Cuckoo Orpington Project
I have an English Orpington Cuckoo Orpington Rooster, in with 4 Black English Orpington hens and a Lavender 50% English Orpington hen.

BBS Orpington

Sulmtaler
Our bloodlines include birds imported by Greenfire Farm and Widget Creek farm. We have two roosters and 8 hens in our breeding pens. Sulmtalers are renown for the excellent meat qualities. I like them because they are adorable. Sulmtalers can be a bit shy but once they know and trust you they are very friendly and always under foot looking for treats.
