Please tell me those were from me! LOLFYI, I was skeptical about shipped eggs too, but I'm in TN and just got some from California and they arrived beautifully, very few with detached air cells even. They will go into the incubator today.

based on some studies somewhere in the "diary and notes shipped eggs" thread by Sally Sunshine, it states that incubating without turning during the beginning of incubation is detrimental to the hatch and is likely to cause malpositions.Wasson6Pack don't turn on the turner for at least 4 days. I've gotten a lot better hatches, even with wanky aircells that way.
That's funny because everyone I've had do this hasn't had a problem. I wait until the eggs are at room temp and set them. This week is cooler, but it's been 100+ lately, which make sit hard to let them just sit. I used to just let them set and stick them into the running turner. I had horrible hatches. Ask anyone one here. LOL Now I get chicks, so I'm sticking to letting them go for a few days.based on some studies somewhere in the "diary and notes shipped eggs" thread by Sally Sunshine, it states that incubating without turning during the beginning of incubation is detrimental to the hatch and is likely to cause malpositions.
I have great success when I let them set on the counter for a day then place them in he incubator and turn the Turner on. It's better with the eggs laying on their sides in my experience, but I've also had good results with the Turner that holds them pointy end down.
Any time I tried to wait before starting to turn...I had HORRIBLE hatches. Just my 0.02
Sorry!

$10I've got another auction. I have alot of broodies so I'm not getting alot of eggs. So this auction is for 3 SQ Splash silkie and 3 mixed color sizzles. Bidding starts at $10 and S&H is $13 I got these eggs in the past 2 days. I'll add up to 3 extras if I get them by tomorrow. The auction is over tomorrow (thurs) at 8 am central time. The hens laying in the sizzle pen are frizzled silkie partridge and white sizzle. Both these hens have been shown and I incubated just the partridge eggs and they all hatched. Well mostly by broodies. I have a white silkie roo in the sizzle pen. A white hen and a partridge hen have been shown. I didn't get a pic with the partridge hen and her ribbon but she got 1st in BV. The splash that are laying are in a pen that has only splash silkies in it. The roo I got from Bobbi Porto and the hens are my line. The roo and 1 hen which was a pullet at the time have been shown. I plan to show more this year.![]()

This is a bad pic of the splash roo. It was windy and we just got home from a 2 1/2 hour drive from the show. He wasn't wanting his pic taken.
The lightest hen is no longer in that pen.

These where hatched last sept. Only 2 partridge in this pic. The one facing the left side is the darker pullet that is laying now.
