  1. (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens
YES! New to chickens, but have grown up working on horse and dairy farms. I got a mixture of backyard hatching eggs, which I started incubating Feb. 10th.
  1. (2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now I have 15 chickens that are 6 1/2 weeks old.
  1. (3) What breeds do you have?
Unsure.
  1. (4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
My son loves the "chickies", it's been a great experience for our family. Looking forward to going to shows and getting more involved.
  1. (5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Recently started my first garden as well.
  1. (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have a cattle dog collie cross and a cat named Sam.
