I am new in this field. I want to be successful at poultry raising (chickens) in the near future when I retire. I need every information for a starter.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. X2 on our learning center. Are you wanting to raise poultry just for supplying yourself (and maybe your family) with eggs and meat, or are you thinking of being successful in a commercial business? If so, there are some articles worth reading at http://ourlittlefarms.blogspot.com/2011/04/how-to-make-money-with-chickens.html and http://www.new-terra-natural-food.com/raising-chickens.html. Feel free to ask any specific questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

[IMG]You may also want to go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum so you can locate and post on your state thread. You may find others in your area who could advise you on best breeds for the climate etc.

The forums present endless information if you want to check out coops, predators, raising backyard chickens or hatching /incubating chicks. Chicken management, feeding, etc. etc.

If you can't find answers to your questions , try them out on us.
