(Yeah, I mean, it also means that, but hatcheries started selling "Americanas" to trick people into thinking they're getting Ameraucanas. Actually, most of the birds they sell under "Americanas" are just massed produced mutts that carry the blue egg gene, but may or may not lay blue eggs. Some of the birds look very similar to Aneraucanas, and may even fit the Standard, but if they came from a hatchery they probably aren't full blooded Ameraucanas, and thus should not be shown/marketed as such. It's really just slimy on the hatchery's part, since a lot of people don't even look close enough to know what they're getting is not an actual APA recognized breed. And then you end up with people that want to sell other people their "Ameraucanas" and it just creates a chain of confusion and is just generally a mess that could be prevented if hatcheries just marketed their birds as "Easter Eggers" instead of Americanas, or Araucana/Americanas, or Ameraucana/American as or whatever.)
