The newest newcomer to the backyard chicken world

Good morning from frigidly cold central Maine! I am determined to build my own chicken tractor and have laying hens this spring or summer, but I have never raised or cared for chickens so I have a lot to learn. I'm looking forward to reading about your experiencesand maybe asking for advice as I progress. I saw a thread for last year's chicken swap at TSC in Augusta -- does that happen every year? If yes, when this year? Thanks.
