The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning folks :frow

Here are some better photos because we actually got a bit of sunshine in the afternoon, though it was still windy and very cold.

This one is so cute. 🄰

There is a 7th but it is still drying off. I had to put it in the brooder because it was yelling its head off in the incubator and making the ones in the brooder yell too. It looks like it will be a partridge coloured one. The original birchen eggs I bought were at the project stage, so there's still odd colours that pops up (plus I've crossed them to my BBR rooster to try and get gold birchens).

There's another egg pipped in the incubator and a few eggs to go after that.

Hope you've all had a good nights sleep. I'll be off to bed soon. Our daughter will be 14 tomorrow which I can't believe.
Sleep well Jae, the chicks are beautiful... Tell your Daughter happy Birthday from us. They grow entirely too fast.
Good morning all.
:frow Good morning DMC, have a great day

That is too cute. She's one dedicated momma :)
Hope you enjoy your weekend with the kiddos.

Hows the kitten, June (isnt That her name? )?
Thank you Mad, we had a great weekend with the boys. June is the kitten's name. She is fitting in with the petpets pretty well. She is still a little wary of the dogs, but she no longer runs from them.
That is funny! Nuit took her 6 up on the roost at 3 weeks, a week earlier than I expected. She cut them loose 2 weeks ago at 6 weeks.
She put them on a roost for the first time last night. It was quite a ruckus; she wanted them to have the entire roost, not just one bar. The other hens were not interested in giving over their space. She finally gave in and let her family roost with the dark brahma girls.

Congratulations Jae! They are beautiful. I hope you are blessed with a good ratio of pullets to cockrels!

Good morning Sue, Deb, DMC, Mad, Jae, Ron, Sour, Mark, and Bob! I hope I didn't miss anyone.
I opened the back door earlier to let the cat in, it feels like a steam shower. We had the most beautiful weekend, with 80s temperatures, but we are back under a heat advisory now, until Tuesday. Temps high 90s and high humidity.
The chickens are handling it pretty well so far. The hubby is too. He is working on clearing an area, for a wading pond.
You all have a wonderful day!

Good morning everyone :frow

I was just admiring the cute baby chicks. :)
:frow Good morning Marie, have a great day

Good morning peeps. I saw baby pictures and couldn't help but to drop some of my own in.
Fabio and Astrid. Fabio is the senior rooster of the flock.

Little Napoleon was also permitted to come in and feed the chicks with their mother.

It's an absolutely awful day here. It's currently only 43F outside and rainy. But our chicks are hatching. I was woken up at 2.45am by the first one announcing its arrival. So far 5 have hatched but one is still drying off in the incubator. This is the best photo I could get seeing as it's such a gloomy day.
