The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We're getting down into the 50's at night so I guess fall is coming.
Same here

I only grew 1 cherry tomato plant and it did well too.
I only grew one Sungold cherry ... and have about 5 "volunteers". Oddly one is a red cherry and I have NEVER grown one of those in the 10 years I've had a garden here. I wonder if cherry is dominant and red is dominant and the red Early Girl last year had a date with the Sungold.

I got some terrible news my son in Japan had a heart attack he's only 34 I can only hope and pray he is still alive .
That is horrible!! I hope they caught it early and there is no permanent damage to his heart.

But usually I make cottage pies
From the description - Shepherd's Pie? I love those. DW won't eat the mashed potatoes and DD2 won't eat the veggies so I sometimes make it for myself when they have takeout sushi. I was going to suggest them for the canned meat.

I read that on the box, that’s why I questioned it. I wondered if it was necessary to wash them.
Does seem unnecessary given the temps they get heated to when canning.

Interesting on the tomato plants.
Less work! It seems like there is also less rubber on the lids then there was when my mom canned. She always heated the lids.

I'm so excited! LOOK! 🥰

I think it's a girl. It's the cutest thing! :wee

I'd gone up to check for eggs then walked back past the sheep and saw Lambkins in the shelter lying down looking uncomfortable, then something wriggled by her back end so I jumped in there and quickly made sure baby could breathe, then I ran back to the house and excitedly told the kids and grabbed my camera. That was just before 11am so it must've been a pretty short labour as at 8.30am we moved them and she was still eating and looking fine, but I thought she was looking close. Baby only took 40 minutes to stand and have her first drink.
