What do you use for cherries ?

I buy frozen cherries at the grocery store. Mix them up with some sugar, a bit of flour to thicken so they don't get soupy, a pinch of salt and some almond extract.

Out of my boys, my youngest is just like me - he would be up at 5am if I allowed

I should have said sour or sweet cherries . We had sour cherry trees in our yard when I was a youngster and my Ma made killer cherry pie . All the trees around here died of blight many years ago . Here's what to do with raw turnips cut them up like you would French fries and dip them in Kraft chunky blue cheese dressing . It's a marriage made in heaven

We did too, and my Mom made the best sour cherry pie. There is actually a place in So. Jersey that sells a pretty good sour cherry pie, but not as good as Mom's.
