Good morning Debby.
Thank you for asking. She is still here, and doing great most days.
She occasionally says something (very) off the wall, but we attribute it to dreams. She keeps bringing up a bizarre false memory (dream?) in which she says her neighbors were chasing her with broomsticks and telling her to leave the neighborhood. I'm not sure why that dream(?) has stuck with her, but I'm sure it has to do with the head injury. She brings it up daily, and believes that it really happened.
She also believes she is engaged to her lawn guy, that there are several children playing in our back yard every night, and that she is our landlord.
She is doing great physically. I don't know if her memory, and mental acuity, will ever be the same. We are just going about life day by day.
Thoughts like she is having must be kind of scary to her (except maybe the lawn guy one). It's good you and yours are there for her and with your nursing background, that has to help.
Day by day is the way to go for all of us
