Quitting cigarettes was a wild struggle for me, especially in the first couple of weeks. I tried patches, gum, and cold turkey, but the cravings always got me when I was stressed. What finally stuck was switching to vaping for a while, but I wanted something less hassle than refilling tanks all the time. Now I rarely ever think about smoking at all, and yeah, it feels surreal after so many years of it being part of my routine.

I've smoked aproximately 3-5 cancer sticks in over 69 years. And that was back in my early teens. Glad none of my friends smoked, but both of my parents did. After my heart attack last year, I gave up smoking anything but a brisket.
