DMC, that's big tree! It's going to look beautiful with all your decorations on it!

About the gingerbread houses...I start with a kit. TSC has the best ones I've found so far (the house I did this year was a kit from Michael's and not as large or as nice). My number 1 tip for assembling, use a glue gun! Forget trying to stick walls and roof together with Royal icing, it takes too long to set up and isn't as strong. The decorations are all put on with the icing and the kits never have much extra of that.

These are the 2 previous g-bread houses I've made. The first when we lived in FL and the 2nd when I was living in the company house:

There looks like a big difference in size Mad, are adults and kids mixed together to play all at once? Congrats to your Liberators on the win!

First, I didn't know there was such a thing as a tree disposal bag

Second, seems like if you put it under the tree you can just pull it up when it is time to take the tree out without knocking needles on the floor (or maybe that is how they are used?) And yes, I DO understand that in her case, the needles aren't supposed to fall off.

Third, how does a tree disposal bag look over the tree in the house?

Roller derby on a flat (not) track? That has to be kinda hard. And adults against kids? Just not right!!!


Doesn't that impart a less than satisfying taste and texture to the house?

The juniors and adults are separate. I should have clarified but they do have teenagers on the adults team so, you'd think they'd take it easy on the smaller players. It is derby but, there are rules.
